Better Choices

Color me regretful
For I made another handful
Of mistakes last night.
Damn this blight,
Lonely purpling of my soul
And it’s getting old, I can’t

Take these chances
Break new romances;
Make a better choice,
Take time to rejoice.

When all you want is how things used to be
And you wonder how you made all this debris,
Yet you know damn well
You’re the only one who fell.
Made your mess in one hell of a test
And you owe it to the rest not to

Take these chances
Break new romances;
Make a better choice,
Take time to rejoice.

When the alarm bells go off in your head
Make sure you get out of that bed
That you know you can’t be in.
You’re too good to make this sin,
Take a page from your friends;
Don’t let it end this way, don’t

Take these chances
Break new romances;
Make a better choice,
Take time to rejoice.

But you don’t know how much farther
You can go with her;
Maybe you’re not worth a fling,
You’ll just make her sing
Some blues songs, break her heart
And you’ll know you’ll cry when she departs, just don’t

Take these chances
Break new romances;
Make a better choice,
Take time to rejoice.

Grab hold of some stock in your situation,
Analyze your frustration,
Get deep to the root of the problem you grieve
And you will see
That pulling up the past can scare you;
Don’t be afraid, make it anew, you know you can’t

Take these chances
Break new romances;
Make a better choice,
Take time to rejoice.
